Notes:
Priesthill Methodist Church Records
- 9 April 1888 1. It was resolved that David Bradshaw and
Hinds be superintendents....
2. Resolved
that Miss Mary Anne Bradshaw be the afternoon Teacher of the second
class girls.
According to the baptismal records of Priesthill Methodist (New
Connexion) Church, David & Mary Anne had 14 children.
They were also
recorded as Church members up to 29 April 1890 but did not appear in the
1893 records
(T679/402/1-26, mic IE/41 & IE/64). It is probable
that David and Mary Anne moved to Belfast.
1939 Will, Mary Anne Bradshaw of Annacloy, Co. Down, Spinster died 11
March 1939 - probate to John McKay, farmer.

Notes on David
Bradshaw (b.1862)
It
was about the year 1874 that David Bradshaw entered Mr.
Carlisle’s Life. Servants are not wont to speak too favourably
of their
masters. Here is friend Bradshaw’s testimony:-
“After the death of my uncle George, when I entered Mr.
Carlisle’s shop, the first question he asked me was, had I been
born again.
He came round the counter to me and said, ‘David,
I have been thinking about you, and praying for the salvation of
your soul.
Your sainted father and mother prayed for you. God
says, ‘Now is the day of salvation’; what do you say? I would
advise you to
get washed in the blood of the lamb at once. Then
you could pray for your bereaved Aunt and read comforting words
to her out of
the Bible; and you would also be useful in the
church. I did not yield for a time, but he kept at me so
earnestly and constantly, that I
found it impossible to resist
his treaties. In the class, his warming sank into my heart.
One evening in the month of December, his
words to me were
clothed with the power of the Spirit, and that night, in my own
room, I gave my sinful heart to Jesus. ……………”

James Carlisle. By Rev. Edward Thomas (1891) Page 87
